Qistas analyzes financial statements, contracts, business models and financial products through an expert-designed Shariah compliance workflow. Islamic finance specialists define what the system looks for, what it excludes, what evidence it retains, which rules apply and when a case must be escalated. The Qistas AI agent prepares the analysis, then the Qistas consulting team reviews and finalizes every paid final report.
Qistas does not ask a general-purpose model to improvise a Shariah conclusion. The underlying AI operates within a controlled decision framework designed and maintained by Islamic finance specialists. Experts define which facts must be extracted, which items are irrelevant or excluded, which evidence is retained, which thresholds and rules are applied, and which cases must be escalated to human review.
The framework references applicable AAOIFI Shariah Standards. For Moroccan analyses, a jurisdiction-specific layer also references applicable published Shariah opinions issued by Morocco’s Higher Council of Ulema and relevant Moroccan participative-finance rules.

Qistas provides independent Shariah compliance analysis and consulting. In Morocco, Qistas does not replace an official Shariah conformity opinion (avis conforme) issued by Morocco’s Higher Council of Ulema when such an opinion is legally required.
Qistas combines expert-designed Shariah decision logic, deterministic financial rules, document intelligence, an AI reasoning layer and human review. Islamic finance specialists define the screening criteria, exclusions, evidence hierarchy, thresholds and escalation rules. The goal is reproducibility, traceability and disciplined escalation of ambiguous issues.
Identify document type, jurisdiction, period, counterparties, product structure and missing information.
Financial figures and contractual clauses are extracted into structured fields. Calculations are performed by deterministic code rather than delegated to the language model.
Islamic finance specialists define what the engine tests, what it excludes, which evidence it keeps, the applicable thresholds and when human escalation is mandatory. Rules are selected according to analysis type, methodology version and jurisdiction.
The AI agent maps findings, explains issues, surfaces contradictions and drafts a preliminary analysis within the expert-defined Qistas methodology. It is not permitted to substitute generic model judgment for controlled Shariah rules.
A Qistas consultant reviews source documents, calculations, issue severity and conclusions before a paid final report is released.
The platform can display AI confidence numerically, but the compliance conclusion should use controlled categories.
No material issue identified under the selected methodology, subject to report scope.
Potentially acceptable if stated corrective actions or conditions are satisfied.
Insufficient data or issue requiring deeper expert or scholarly judgment.
A material issue conflicts with the selected methodology within the documented scope.

Jaâfar Hana is the founder and CEO of Qistas Consulting. He holds an MBA in Finance from Al Akhawayn University. His MBA thesis examined ESG compliance and the efficiency, profitability and performance of Islamic and conventional banks in the MENA region.
His professional work includes financial consulting, Islamic-finance advisory and Shariah audit work. Within Qistas Shariah Intelligence, he contributes to the expert-defined screening logic and participates in the human verification of analyses before final reports are released.
As Qistas expands, additional qualified consultants and Shariah specialists can be added to this page. Each reviewer profile should display only verified qualifications and clearly distinguish personal certifications from any certification or endorsement of the Qistas platform itself.

Qistas treats client documents and analysis files as confidential. Access is limited to authorized Qistas personnel and the technical service providers strictly required to operate the platform. Client documents are not sold, used for advertising, or made public.
Only the client account and authorized Qistas reviewers can access a case. The platform keeps the AI-generated preliminary assessment separate from the human-reviewed final report.
A reusable public document carrying the company’s signature creates an avoidable fraud risk. Qistas therefore generates a client-specific confidentiality agreement after login. The client signs it first; Qistas then countersigns the executed copy.
After signing in, clients can generate a personalized confidentiality agreement tied to their account and save it as PDF for signature. Signature legalization or notarization can be requested when a particular engagement requires it, rather than imposing it on every client.
“Private” does not mean that no technical processor ever handles data. Where the platform uses hosting, email or AI infrastructure, those providers may process data solely to deliver the service under their applicable terms. Qistas should not promise absolute non-disclosure if external processors are used.
